The Context:
A broker reached out to SWG for a quote on a restaurant with a low liquor risk. The current insurance provider was stepping away due to a change in their appetite for this type of risk, leaving the broker in a bind.
The Business Need:
The restaurant’s policy was set to expire on February 10th, but the incumbent insurer had offered a two-week extension, giving the broker a narrow window to secure new coverage. SWG responded quickly, offering favorable terms, and the broker decided to move forward with coverage starting on February 20th. However, the existing insurer let the original policy lapse on February 10th, creating a potential gap in coverage for the restaurant, which could have led to serious consequences for the business.
Our Solution:
Understanding the urgency, SWG’s underwriter, in collaboration with their team lead, obtained approval to backdate the new policy to February 10th, filling the gap. With this proactive and flexible approach, SWG exceeded expectations, providing the client with fast, seamless service that ensured they were fully covered without interruption.
