Preparing for Canada Post Service Disruption

Jul 2016

As you may know, Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) are currently in contract negotiations. As a precaution, ahead of the July 2 strike vote we are preparing for a disruption in postal services over the summer months. We are working to ensure we minimize disruption to your clients during this time.

In case of a postal strike, South Western Group will implement our contingency plan detailed below to help minimize business interruption to you and your customers.

Please review the information and direct any questions you may have to Barb Pattenden, Director Insurance Operations at barb.pattenden@swgins.com

Distribution of Policy Documents

All policy documents will continue to be sent via email. If you are a broker who requires hard copies of policy documents, only electronic copies will be available during the postal strike. Regular delivery will commence after the strike.

Premium Payment Options

South Western Group requests that all payments be sent by ICS or your preferred courier service. Alternatively, you can make a direct deposit to our RBC bank account.

For bank account details please contact our Finance department at finance@swgins.com

Registered letter Policy Cancellation

Registered letter cancellations will be delivered by courier instead of registered letter.

Warm Regards, South Western Insurance Group
