Are you having a hard time placing a homeowner’s policy? Do the standard markets not want to write the account due to underwriting circumstances?

Let SWG help you. We have three NEW and IMPROVED programs under which we can consider a Substandard Homeowner’s risk.

  • Home Protect 1 – Standard Form: Named Perils on Dwelling & Personal Property (ACV)
  • Home Protect 2 – Broad Form: Broad Form on Dwelling ; Named Perils on Contents (R/C)
  • Home Protect 3 – Comprehensive Form: Broad Form – Dwelling & Personal Property (R/C)
  • Secondary Residence: Named Perils Form (ACV)
  • Seasonal Residence: Named Perils Form (ACV)

Scheduled Articles Cover is available (except for seasonal/secondary residence risks)

SWG Will Consider:

  • Properties with up to 2 mortgages
  • Up to 200 acres provided there is no farming or commercial activities, eg. Bush
  • Multiple locations on one policy (this includes rented dwellings, provided we are also covering the insured’s principal residence)
  • Risks under minor renovations – provided completion date is no longer than three months from date of inception
  • Up to four boarders living with owner
  • Two family occupancies
  • Duplex situation – partial tenant occupancy
  • Snowbird situations provided residence is being cared for on a regular basis while insureds are absent
  • 60 amp service, with an electrician’s letter
  • Knob & Tube, with an electrician’s letter up to 25% – if more must be removed within 60 days.
  • Galvanized plumbing
  • Risks on an island, provided the risk has no claims
  • Combination wood furnace and outdoor wood furnaces, or woodstoves as primary heat
  • Home business’ provided there is adequate commercial coverage ie: CGL
  • If risk is registered under a company name, for tax purposes only.
  • Risks cancelled for non-payment
  • Applicants with no prior insurance experience
